The “Art” of Advertising

D4's "Art" Created for Pond Lehocky Starting Point: Over 3 million workers every year in the U.S. get injured on the job. When this happens, their lives are torn apart. Income ceases to come into their households. Families struggle. Bills pile up and insurance companies refuse to pay. But no one hears their stories. Task: Pond LeHocky, one of Philadelphia’s leading Workers’ Compensation Law Firms, wanted to tell some of their clients’ moving stories in a big way in the lobby of their new offices. Solution: As part of the brand evolution of Pond Lehocky, D4 created the “Torn Apart” campaign, which included TV, out-of-home, and social media components featuring the video stories, photography and the artwork of three of the law firm’s clients- by renowned collage artist, Ian Wright. Wright used actual documents from their case files, and tore them to create the unique, collage-style portraits. Each is made up of many significant elements of their cases – medical bills, and records, insurance bills, signatures, and more. D4’s ECD, Rich Wakefield, evolved the emotive strategy from 2014’s “Shattered” campaign. The artwork was blown up to wall size art for the law firm’s new offices in Philadelphia. The illustrations have already won a place in this year’s Communication Arts Magazine’s 6th Illustration Annual Competition. The Result? Three powerful portraits that remind clients and attorneys of all the dedication that goes into putting injured worker’s lives back together.
